I completed my degree in Biotechnology at the University of Rovira i Virgili (URV), Tarragona, in 2021. During my BSc project, I worked on a research project analyzing the correlation between genetic and antigenic positivity of SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19 patients. I then completed a master’s degree in molecular, Cellular, and Genetic Biology at the University of Valencia (UV), graduating in 2022. For my Bachelor’s thesis, I focused on virus silencing in the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata), which led me to join the Biotechnological Pest Control (CBP) research group at the Genetics Department of the UV.
In 2022, I began working with the CBP group as part of the European INVESTIGO Program and over the next two years, my research centered on the genetic improvement of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) for sustainable insect-based food production. I specifically studied how high-temperature rearing selection affects the fitness of the fly. Since 2024, I have continued in the group as a predoctoral researcher, further developing skills in molecular biology techniques, insect handling, and scientific critical thinking.
