I studied Biology at the University of Valencia and completed a Master’s degree in animal Biodiversity: Conservation and Evolution. My final Master´s project was conducted at the Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (IVIA) and was focused on the population dynamics of two potential European insect vectors of the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa. Afterwards, I was awarded an EPRIEX grant and continued my work at the same research institute where I had been employed for a year. I was part of the Department of Plant Protection, specifically within the Entomology Group. My research focused on larval and pupal parasitoids of the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata), as well as on Philaenus spumarius and Neophilaenus campestris, two potential vectors of Xylella fastidiosa.
Building on this experience, I was employed at the Universidad Politècnica de València (UPV), as part of the European Investigo Programme, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing biodiversity and green infrastructure across the university’s various campuses. Currently, I’m part of the Biotechnological Pest Control (CBP) group, focusing on the role of viruses in host-parasitoid interactions.
