Early Stage Researcher

Sergio Redondo Moreno

Hello, my name is Sergio Hipólito Redondo Moreno, and I am originally from Santa María del Campo Rus, in the province of Cuenca. My academic training began at the University of Valencia, where I studied Food Science and Technology, and later obtained a Master’s degree in Quality and Food Safety, also from this institution. After completing my studies, I had the opportunity to work at the Polytechnic University of Valencia as a senior research technician within the Department of Food Technology. I was part of the Analysis and Simulation of Agro-food Processes group (ASPA), focusing especially on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), a key tool for evaluating the environmental impact of food processes.

Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Biomedicine and Biotechnology at the University of Valencia, supported by an FPI (Research Personnel Training) fellowship. My research centers on studying the mode of action and interaction of Cry protein receptors in Spodoptera exigua. This project reflects my commitment to contributing sustainable solutions to the challenges of pest control in agriculture, seeking a balance between scientific innovation and environmental respect.
